Fremont Street Experience
Here is where you’ll find some of the more interesting performers, artists, and uniquely dressed people in all of Las Vegas! If you have kids, expect them to ask questions later. Among the featured novelties you can find on any given day would be a man dressed in a V-shaped bathing that just covers “you now what”. There’s topless dancing girls with the nipples covered. An amusing act I saw recently was a guy who just laid on the ground. You get to move him into any position humanly possible for a donation. Then there are the drummers who take every day items like five gallon pails, hub caps, pots and pans, and whatever else will make a sound to come up with some great rhythms.
You can also duck into anyone of the casinos like 4 Queens, Golden Gate, and Binion’s, that helped make Vegas famous to get cool, have a beverage, and play some games.
The Canopy
About the nicest thing about Fremont Experience is that it’s under a great canopy running from roughly S. Las Vegas Blvd until it ends at S. Main St just in front of the Plaza Hotel. This helps to block the sun in the summer and keep things a little cooler once the temperature regularly goes over 100 degrees Fahrenheit.

Old Time Casinos
Unlike the Strip where everything gets torn down and built back up seemingly every decade or so, Fremont Street is home to many legendary casinos that still look much the same over the years. There’s Binion’s, where the World Series of Poker began, and Golden Nugget, built by LA crime boss Guy McAfee around the same time Busy Siegel was building the Flamingo. There’s also a new one on the street called the Circa. The Circa replaced the Las Vegas Club and brought higher prices to the area.
Eats
There’s no shortages of places to eat. You can grab a barbecue, get a hamburger big enough to give you a heart attack, or try some Irish/English food. Here’s a list of places put together by Vegasexperience.com on some of the best places to stop at for lunch or dinner when visiting the Fremont Street Experience!

Drinks & Pot
Seriously, this is Vegas, there’s drinks and pot everywhere nowadays. In addition to the bars inside, some casinos have moved them out onto the street to make it easier to get a cold one. A small pot shop with limited offerings has opened up on the street, too.
Shops
Like every fine tourist attraction, there’s plenty of spots to pick up trinkets, hats, pullovers, jewelry, artists renderings, and more that you can buy for the folks back home.
For a tourist area, the prices at the kiosks really aren’t bad compared to some places I’ve been. I once bought a couple of soft pull-over sweaters that were comfortable and well-made.

Music
Things are starting to pick up throughout Vegas and music will be returning some time soon. I’ll keep you updated on when and who will be appearing.

Oscar's
Inside the Plaza is Oscar’s Restaurant, a highly rated steakhouse. It’s named after Oscar Goodman, the legendary Mob lawyer and former longtime mayor of Las Vegas. He has said his favorite hobby is drinking martinis made with Bombay Sapphire Gin on the rocks with stuffed garlic olives (in case he’s there and you want to buy him one). His wife, Carolyn, is ending her third and final term as mayor. She replaced Oscar as mayor in 2011.
